Send Alarm Email to Customer

Configure iRis Cloud to automatically send email notifications when an alarm is created. This guide uses alarm rules and the Notification Center to deliver alarm-based email notifications to customer users.

Thermostat Home sends temperature telemetry. The HMI Device is assigned to Customer A.

When the temperature goes outside the acceptable range (below -40 °C or above 80 °C):

  • An alarm is created by the alarm rules.
  • An email notification is sent to the responsible customer users.

Before proceeding:

  • Add at least one Customer user who will receive the notifications.
  • Make sure outgoing email delivery is configured for the instance by a System Administrator.
  • Review Notification Center for recipient, template, and notification rule configuration.
  • Review Alarm rules for alarm creation, trigger conditions, and the alarm lifecycle.

Open Customers, locate Customer A, and use Manage users to open the customer users list. Make sure at least one customer user exists for the customer that should receive the alarm email.

Open Alarms ⇾ Alarm rules and configure alarm rules for the HMI Device or device profile so iRis Cloud creates an alarm when the target telemetry condition is met.

The Notification Center delivers notifications to users. It consists of three components:

  • Recipients define who receives notifications.
  • Templates define the notification content and delivery method.
  • Rules define the conditions under which notifications are sent.

Open Notification Center ⇾ Recipients and create a recipients group with Type set to Platform users, User filter set to Customer users, and the target customer selected in the Customer field.
